A good broom finish is uniform in direction, consistent in depth, and free of trowel marks and burn spots. It is the most common finish we pour and the one where a crew that rushes the timing is most obvious.
We watch the bleed water and hit the surface at the right window - not early enough to close it off, not late enough to leave a slick spot. Light, medium or heavy texture depending on how much slope and traffic the slab has.
